Emergency Debriefing (What to Expect After a Traumatic Event)

We offer a unique and interactive approach to learning about and emotional trauma

and managing mental health and well-being. Our workshops utilize research-backed techniques and skills that, when practiced daily, can lead to positive, focused self-management. We design each workshop to meet the specific needs of your group, whether it’s a community, school, workplace, or sports club. Managing daily mental wellness before it escalates into mental illness is just as important as maintaining physical health. Just as we prioritize personal hygiene through daily practices like brushing our teeth and washing our hands, we should also manage our minds and

inner thoughts with techniques that keep us healthy, balanced, calm, and happy—akin to "physio for the mind." Similarly, when we experience a physical injury, we promptly administer first aid, such as applying a bandage or calling for assistance. So, why wouldn't we offer the same immediate care to our mental well-being when something feels off? With the right tools, we can better manage and understand our mental health before issues escalate. We advocate for a shift in how we manage mental wellness, emphasizing early intervention and self-care. The fight-flight-freeze response is the body’s natural reaction to danger, triggering hormonal and physiological changes. However, when this response becomes overactive, it can lead to hypervigilance and chronic stress. Long-term activation of this stress response can disrupt many of the body’s processes, leading to serious psychological injuries such as anxiety and post-traumatic stress. Our workshops stand out by offering a unique, practical demonstration of the fight-flight-freeze response, suitable for all age groups, including school-age youth, rural communities, men’s groups, veterans, sporting groups, and first responders.

"FIRST AID FOR THE MIND" is a self-management approach to navigating life’s emotional trauma. We teach scientifically proven techniques that rewire the brain by calming the amygdala, the brain’s stress center. These techniques help release the limitations imposed by negative experiences, emotions, and thoughts, fostering a balanced life. Chronic stress often goes unnoticed until it begins to take a toll. Our workshops are designed to educate participants on the body and mind's reactions to stress and provide hands-on techniques to manage these responses effectively. We understand that stress responses may vary, with issues sometimes arising long after an incident. Our workshops are tailored to address major stressors, traumatic incidents, suicide loss, workplace accidents, or managing mental wellness in challenging times.

Our workshops offer a safe, supportive environment, using language that respects attendees' experiences. We provide informative presentations with proven techniques and tools for ongoing self-care and resilience. By being informed about what to expect, you are better equipped to recognize when post-trauma becomes unmanageable. Early awareness leads to earlier support, resulting in more effective and timely resolutions. This version is designed to be comprehensive and professional while clearly communicating the benefits and objectives of your workshops.

COLLECTIVE TRAUMA or shared trauma is a psychological distress that a group or community experience in response to a major event, like floods, bushfire, earthquakes or terrorist attacks. Our hands on workshops offer more than a power point presentation, we teach you research backed hands-on techniques that work.
